For Regional Executive (One candidate):
David Brown for Ohio Valley Region SCCA Regional Executive
I’m asking for your vote for Regional Executive. I’ve been a member of OVR for 29 years and have had the pleasure of serving as your Regional Executive 4 times as well as a member of the Board of Directors currently. My track record speaks for itself— I have advocated for ALL programs. I’m fully in support of Solo and my record speaks for itself. I’ve been a racer since I joined and have also spent many days as a race worker and will continue to do so. My support of Rallycross and the advancement of the program goes back to its infancy. As we developed track based non racing programs I’ve been in full support as well. Growth of all programs is important and I’ll do what is needed to make sure they stay healthy. I currently put the digital version of The Observers Stand together as the editor and support our club in many other ways. I’m not afraid to make the hard decisions when it’s warranted. I’ve voiced my displeasure during Board meetings and will continue to do so when it might not be popular but is necessary. I’ve learned from long time Board of Directors members to not be afraid to speak up and stand for what’s right— whether that be to our local club or the National Office or Board of Directors. I’ve stood in front of members of the entire club and questioned decisions and will not stop. I’ve collaborated with all current Board members and will continue to do so. I’m running to provide leadership. I hope you’ll consider voting for me. Most importantly, the leadership of OVR needs candidates that can work together while also looking out for our future. The past has taught me many lessons and I’m not afraid to learn new ones. As we continue to grow, we need to embrace the past while striving to reach for the future. I ask that you vote for me, but most importantly that you vote. Thank You!

For Board of Directors (5 candidates - Candidates listed below in alphabetical order):
Adam DeLong for Ohio Valley Region SCCA Board of Director
I am honored to be a nominee for the Ohio Valley Region SCCA Board, and I am asking for your vote. As many of you know, my name is Adam DeLong. I have been an active member of our region for over 2 years, and I am committed to the growth and improvement of our motorsport’s community. Throughout this time, I have developed a deep appreciation for the camaraderie, passion, and dedication that our members bring to the sport for which we all share a passion. My journey with the SCCA began when I participated in my first track event at Pitt Race in June of 2022, and 2 days before the “All Things SCCA” event at Pitt Race, where I had registered to run for the Time Trials National Tour event, my engine blew up. When I received the refund of my entry fees, and was asked if I could help, I was put in charge of grid for the weekend, where I received the “Spirit of Time Trials” award. Since then, I have immersed myself in various roles, including attending 11 regional and national Time Trials events combined as a volunteer, attending board meetings consistently for the past year and a half, running a successful Time Trials event 2 years in a row as Event Lead, acting as assistant RE, helping behind the scenes at the last 3 OVR Road Race events at Mid-Ohio, and receiving the 2023 “OVR Starz Above and Beyond“ award. I have also participated as a driver in 2 autocross/solo events, and 3 regional Time Trials events, within the past year. These experiences have not only enriched my own love and passion for motorsports but have also allowed me to witness the incredible spirit of our community. As a board member, I aim to continue the legacy of our highly respected OVR road race program, further the involvement of our already successful autocross/solo program, and increase the participation of our well-run, and well organized, rallycross program. I believe that every member deserves an opportunity to participate and feel valued within our region, and I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive in any racing discipline, or volunteer capacity, in which they choose to pursue. I also recognize that we face challenges ahead, whether it is adapting to the evolving motorsports landscape, or overcoming logistical hurdles. However, I am confident that together, with your support and collaboration, we can navigate these challenges and prepare our region for an even more successful future. My vision for our region is one where we continue to celebrate our passion and love for motorsports, while expanding opportunities for involvement, education, and growth. I encourage open communication, and I seek your input and support, because every voice matters, plus it is essential that our decisions reflect the collective desires of our community. In closing, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you, and excited about this chance to contribute to the ongoing success of our region. I humbly ask for your support, and for your vote. Together, let’s make our region even more vibrant and welcoming for current and future members, over many generations to follow. Thank you all for your time. I look forward to working with each and every one of you in the many years to come, and, as always, let’s continue to have #funwithcars!

Dan Hodge for Ohio Valley Region SCCA Board of Director
I would like to announce that I am running for re-election to the Board of Directors for the Ohio Valley Region of SCCA.
My Platform:
I have been a member of OVR for 29 years. While I am mainly involved in club racing, I have supported the efforts of our Autocross, Rallycross and Time Trial groups during my time on the Board. I have voted in favor of a variety of requests made by our Autocross, Rallycross and Time Trial leadership.
I have served as Assistant Regional Executive, Co-chair of the Election Committee and Treasurer. I was part of the committee that worked on the revision of the By-Laws and Operations Manual. In 2023/2024 I served as Chairperson of the successfully 2023 season Awards Banquet and am currently serving as the Chairperson for the 2024/2025 Awards Banquet. For the past 12 years, I have served as the region’s Chief Steward for club races, which includes Regional, Majors and Super Tour races. I am a past recipient of the OVR BOD Service to Racing Award, the Dave Stewart Award, the Barry Baker Award and RE Award. These awards were because of hard work and dedication to OVR. In 2019 I received the GLD John Peterson Service to Racing Award and in 2022 I received the Steve Harris Award for service to the Great Lakes Division. I am a past Executive Steward and the Deputy Executive Steward for the Great Lakes Division.
Thank you for your consideration. Regardless of who you vote for, please take the time to vote.

Norm Murdock for Ohio Valley Region SCCA Board of Director
OVR has a fine board of directors, and it would be an honor to join it and help out.
My background is road racing, pro rally (for a season in Canada), bit of auto-x and hill climbing. I've also been a corner marshal, a tech inspector, and some other specialties here and there. All of those experiences have been rewarding.
Involvement in SCCA - and OVR specifically - has resulted in lasting friendships and fantastic experiences.
It's my wish to pay it back to the Club and OVR.
Serve OVR, be thoughtful and fair, help the Board with work, represent all areas and specialties of the Region.

Alan Stamper for Ohio Valley Region SCCA Board of Director
My name is Alan Stamper and I am running for a second term on the OVR board. I am asking for your vote so I may continue to work with the other board members for this great club that we are in. I have a long history with the club as an autocrosser, with my first competition being at OSUs old West Campus lot in 1988. For the last three years, I have been actively supporting the club by being a co-chair of the Solo Program. Prior to that spent two years before that as OVR’s Solo Safety Steward Chief. I have been on the OVR Board of Directors for the last two years. I am also a Solo Safety Steward Instructor.
I am an active solo participant and run at all of OVR’s Solo events. I regularly run at multiple out-of-town events each year, participating in large national events like the Cam Challenge and Solo Championship Tour events as well as attending multiple events held in our neighboring regions. Travelling allows me to race against new competitors, watch and learn how those regions run and vary from ours and most importantly, to make new friends through the sport we love. My current race vehicle is an 85’ Honda Civic that runs in EP, known affectionally as either the “antique” or the “air fryer” depending on the day’s temperature.
With your vote, I promise to continue my work for all aspects of our club, Road Racing, Rally-X and Auto-X and especially all our volunteers. I enjoy all aspects of motorsport and will work towards growing OVR as a whole and gaining members in all disciplines.
Professionally, I am an Applications Engineer tasked with quoting assembly lines and assembly equipment. I’m responsible for creating concepts and estimating the prices of large-scale Assembly Lines. My job requires that I keep an open mind, continually learn about new technologies and processes, be creative, and identify and adapt without bias when a better idea or solution is presented.
If re-elected I promise that I will continue to bring that same level-headed approach to the board. To take time to understand the issues, to listen to different viewpoints and without bias to the origin, work toward implementing the best solution to challenges at hand.
Thank You for your consideration

Jude Summers for Ohio Valley Region SCCA Board of Director
I am asking for your vote for another term on the Ohio Valley Region’s Board of Directors. The future of our sport is ever changing. I bring the experience and knowledge necessary to help our programs change and adapt to the benefit of our members and the programs that we support! OVR needs to continue to look at the big picture of all that we support and build on our successes – I will continue to help with that process. I care about ALL of OVR’s programs!!!
I very recently was privileged to observe on Facebook, someone encouraging someone else to run for our board. That’s great! We always need to encourage each other. But their description of the responsibilities of a Director as just attending a meeting once a month, wasn’t quite accurate. To be an effective Director requires more than attending a monthly meeting. It takes care for the success of our overall activities; our membership; following through with ALL commitments; and most of all – dedication. The rewards for volunteering are worth it! The successes of our programs; the racers’ and volunteers’ smiles; and the OVR family of friendships; all make it worth the extra time!
I’ve held many positions since joining the SCCA-OVR in the mid 1980’s including (working various race specialties at tracks like Waterford Hills, IRP, Grattan, Mid-Ohio, Rd Atlanta, the Columbus 500); our club as Membership Chair, Editor of the Observer’s Stand, Board of Directors, Assistant RE and RE, and various ad hoc committees within OVR and Great Lakes Division also as their GL Scheduler. Currently, my focus with OVR is on being a Race Chair, Mid-Ohio – OVR Club & Pro Race liaison, and a Board of Director. I want to continue to put my knowledge and experience to work on behalf of OVR. I would appreciate your trust and your vote for Board of Directors.
Finally, I lifted this from something, don’t recall if they even gave a credit but I loved it. “Place your trust in leaders guided by ethics, experience, and heart, and together, achieve a brighter future.”
Please make the time to vote!
