Celebrate Schonesland's Golden Jubilee with Special Guest, Patrick Long

The Schonesland Region invites you to celebrate our 50th Anniversary on SATURDAY, AUGUST 23RD at the Foundry Distilling Company, 111 South 11th Street, Valley Junction, West Des Moines, IA. This special event welcomes you and your family members along with our friends in neighboring PCA Regions and their families for an afternoon of food, fun, live music and lots of Porsche cars.

And to make this event truly memorable, we will be welcoming Mr. Patrick Long to Des Moines for our special day. Patrick Long, a current Global Brand Ambassador for Porsche, has a deep history with the brand. Long also enjoyed a very successful international racing career as the only AMERICAN Porsche factory team driver from 2003 until 2019. Long is also the co-founder and current owner of Luftgekult, which is considered by many to be the world’s finest annual display of air-cooled Porsches that now features water-cooled Porsches as well.

The Day

Porsche Corral-Upon arrival and check-in, you’ll be parked in the Corral with Porsches similar to yours to create an interesting display grouped by generations and models.

Historic Porsches on Display-we are curating a stunning assortment of rare and historic Porsches for the track and the street for you to enjoy.

Kids’ Historic Car Concours-Patrick Long will coach your kids on how to judge these cars to select their three favorites and award trophies to their owners.

Food and Beverage- Enjoy a free barbeque lunch by SMOKEY D’s that will open at 11:30 AM. TWO cash bars will serve soft drinks, craft beers, wines and cocktails. There might even be an ice cream truck.

Patrick Long’s Presentation-listen to Patrick Long chat about Porsche’s 70-year history of successful racing development and its massive contribution to developing these fantastic cars that bring us together as a club.

Live Music-The Soul Searchers, one of Des Moines’ favorite blues/jazz groups will be swinging good vibes in the background.

50th Anniversary LOGO Merchandise- An online merchandise store has been established for you to order your favorite merch to celebrate our big 50th.

Due to limited space, this event is exclusively open to Schonesland PCA members, their immediate family members and PCA members and their families from our neighboring regions.
