About the Mini Festival: Please join us September 7th – 9th 2018, at the historic Watkins Glen circuit in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State for this premier Motorsports Social event! Professionally sanctioned by SVRA, the US Vintage Grand Prix offers spectators three days of viewing the most exciting Vintage racing action for all car types, form Formula 1 to lowly sedans and sports cars. There will be dedicated Mini only races. Mini is the official featured Marque of the event the Mini only races will be a celebration of the Mini brands impressive fifty-nine years in motorsport. We welcome both Mini/MINI enthusiasts to be part of our Mini Festival.
Ticket details: Enthusiasts who purchase the VIP Mini Festival Enthusiast Ticket package will enjoy three-day admittance to the US Vintage Grand Prix, hospitality in the exclusive VIP Tower Suites, situated trackside not far from the action at the world renowned Esses along with a scenic view overlooking the beautiful Seneca Lake. You will enjoy superb views in climate controlled comfort along with tiered seating, a rooftop viewing deck, reserved infield parking on all three days, and a catered boxed lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. With this package you will also receive a VIP Track Tour session (you get to drive your street Mini/MINI on the race track!) on Sunday, full access to the paddock, racers and their cars. Access to non-reserved camping areas, a car show entry, and the official event program are also included in this amazing package for the incredible price of $170 per ticket!
The "Legend" Paddy Hopkirk will be at our even for the entire weekend. You will get a meet & greet with him in the Tower Suites. Paddy will be making a presentation and signing autographs as well as handing out the winner's trophies.
Racing: Trophies are up for grabs for the top three finishers in each class within an exclusive Minis-only run group: D Sedan, C Sedan, and GT4/5/Lite. Watkins Glen is one of only two original F1 race courses in North America, challenging racers with twelve turns, at least six degrees of banking in all corners, an average of thirty-four feet of track width, significant elevation changes, and 3.4 miles in length. The on-track action is sure to be thrilling to watch!
More fun: There are plenty of unique car activities associated with this event off-track, including: The Watkins Glen Grand Prix Reenactment Tribute race that follows the original race course thru the street of Watkins Glen; the downtown Grand Prix Festival celebrations with music, fine food and wine; the infield car show, and much more! While you’re in town, consider stopping by the International Motor Racing Research Center, home to one of the world’s largest archival collections of materials representing the history of Motorsports. There are many great restaurants and shops to visit in the area if you need a change of scenery from the racing action.
