EXPLORE BMW HISTORY on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13th!
On Sunday, November 13th the National Capital Chapter will meet to tour The Vintage BMW Motorcycle Museum at Bob’s BMW in Jessup, Maryland. This facility offers a unique insight into the history of BMW in the motorcycling world.
The Museum currently consists of over 4,000 square feet devoted to exhibits about the history of BMW and its involvement in motorcycling. The collection comprises approximately 100 machines. This includes antique, vintage, classic and select modern BMW motorcycles and side cars. The collection also boasts a BMW Isetta 300 mini-car, memorabilia, wall art, advertising, trophies, special parts, accessories, period riding gear, factory cut-away motors, rare signage, workshop tools and much more.
The history of BMW motorcycles comes to life as you walk through this collection of BMW motorcycles ranging from BMW’s very first motorcycle dating from 1925, classic machines from all eras of BMW’s history including WWII; a never before ridden motorcycle from 1972, a 50 year old, brand new model R75/5, adventure BMWs spanning several decades and models ridden around the world. There is one very special machine boasting over 600,000 miles. One of only two BMW Paramedic bikes delivered in the USA is included in the collection as well as BMWs ridden by the likes of Gary Nixon, Bart Markel and Dave Aldana.
