THSCC RallyCross Wilson Points Event #2 & #3

Wilson County Fairgrounds

About this event

Join the Tarheel Sports Car Club at one of our favorite venues, the Wilson County Fairgrounds, for our second rallycross weekend of 2025! Start the season strong and grab an early points lead! Each day—Saturday and Sunday—is a separate event for season points, so you can register for one or both days.

The smooth Wilson County Fairgrounds site is easy on cars, and the course features some of the fastest speeds and widest sweeping turns our program offers. This is one of our longest-used and most popular sites, dating back to the earliest days of the THSCC RallyCross program! Expects more attendance than any other location! This site is relatively flat and the courses here are great for daily drivers and novices. We often take a lunch break—consider heading to the historic Parker's Barbecue (cash or check only).

This site has permanent bathroom facilities. Camping can be arranged, but please contact the rallycross staff several days in advance for site specific requirements.

Difficulty: Beginner

Terrain:

  • Mostly level
  • Many slaloms
  • Gravel
  • Dirt

Recommended Setup:

  • Metal skid plate
  • Stock ride height

Wilson County Fairgrounds is easy to find via Google maps - it's right along US 301 - proceed to the gate at the large grassy lot.

See more about the Wilson site on our THSCC website!

In addition to racing, you'll be working the course for roughly 60 to 90 minutes. lt will be dusty and could get sunny depending on the weather. We recommend the following items:

  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Insect repellent
  • Disposable face mask for dust
  • Water, Gatorade, or similar beverages
  • Close-toed shoes

BRING A SNELL CERTIFIED HELMET - We will have loaner helmets available if necessary, but for many reasons—both for your benefit and ours—it’s strongly recommended that you bring your own. Please note that we do not accept helmets that are only DOT approved.

Spectators are always welcome at our events, and it's free to watch! Photographers are encouraged to join us but must have a spotter when on course to ensure their safety. Please note that speeds in pit areas should always be kept to a walking pace.

Event requirements

Your car should be technically inspected BEFORE the drivers meeting. To pass tech, you must:

  • Clean out any loose items in the car, this includes cell phones cables, garage door openers, loose change and such.
  • The battery has to be properly secured.
  • If your floor mats are not physically attached to carpet, they will have to be removed. We don’t want the floor mat to bunch up under the brake or gas pedals.
  • Have a SNELL approved helmet, 2010 or newer (M-rated or SA-rated). We do not accept DOT-only approved helmets.

It is your responsibility to:

  • Check basic fluids such as oil, coolant, and brake.
  • Make sure you torque the lug nuts to manufacturer's recommended tightness.
  • Make sure you have no active leaks on the motor, transmission or diff. Oil on the track is a bad thing.
  • Check tire pressure. If you don’t know what to set it to, ask ASAP.
  • Your tires MUST be serviceable, meaning they have appropriate tread, no chords showing, etc.

Trucks and SUVs are not allowed at THSCC events due to their higher center of gravity, increased rollover risk, and potential to cause excessive wear to the course. If you’ve modified your vehicle in a way that you believe warrants an exception to this rule, please email the registrar to request approval. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case and site-specific basis.

Convertible cars must have an approved hard top.
