About this event
Join us on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. for a fun day at the Tellus Science Museum. The Tellus Science Museum is a Smithsonian Institution-affiliate natural history and science museum located in Cartersville, GA (100 Tellus Drive Cartersville, GA 30120, Exit 293 right off of I-75). The museum has a fabulous exhibit of Transportation related items; cars, airplanes, motorboat engines and aerospace that we think you find will be worth the trip to the museum. They even have a replica of the Mercedes-Benz Patent Wagon!
In addition to the Transportation exhibit the museum has two other major galleries of Dinosaurs and Gems and Minerals. On the premises there is the West Virginia University Solar House that illustrates how Solar energy can be put to use. This is a great family event, so bring the kids or the grandchildren to experience this facility. The children (and adults too) during their visit can pan for minerals or dig for fossils.
After our visit we will visit a local restaurant for lunch. The cost per person is $15.00 (Children under three are free).
