Don't miss the fourth annual
Summit Point Trackcross Series
for Spring/Summer 2021!

We are happy to bring back our popular warm weather series using various parts of racetrack at Summit Point Motorsports Park for the 4th time! Each date will be two half-day higher speed autocrosses without cones on different courses for two heats each. There are no work assignments (unless you choose that option for a discount) and registration will be limited so everyone gets plenty of runs. The wet skidpad may be open, touring laps during lunch may be available, and we will have a championship series with winners at the end!

Most street or race cars are welcome but must pass a safety tech inspection (click here for the form.) Car classing is basic: Street or Competition (based on tires and modifications), FWD or RWD or AWD, under 2.5L NA or over 2.5L/all FI, over or under 400hp. Or Novice class of course - these events are great for first timers. There is no cheaper or easier way to run for times on a real road course!

Event requirements

Summary of event procedural changes due to COVID-19: click here

Eligibility: All participants must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license.

Tech Inspection: click here for the form we use to teh your car. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure safe mechanical condition of the vehicle at all times. It is strongly recommended that vehicles be thoroughly and routinely inspected by a reputable technician beforehand. Refunds or credits will not be available for cars that fail tech. See note below re: convertibles.

Convertibles: Rollbars are required unless the car is factory equipped with rollover protection, and it must state such in the manual. Drivers must bring manual and present it at tech. Mazda MX5/Miata, Honda S2000, and Dodge Viper convertibles (among others) all need 4 point roll bars added. All convertibles should pass a “broomstick test” as well. Please inquire before registering if you have any question about the legality of your convertible. Sorry no refunds or credits if you register and/or show up with a convertible that doesn’t pass tech.

Helmets: Must have Snell M2010/SA2010 or newer rating and be in good condition. Rental helmets are available directly from OG Racing in advance.

Passengers: TBD per event, limited due to covid restrictions

Weather: These events will take place “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” but may be rescheduled or paused for more significant weather.

Cancellation: All sales final – no cancellation, refund, or credit. An entry is transferrable to another person for that event only.

Entry Fees:
AM & PM Runs w/o work assignment - $125 pre-reg or $150 waiting list/at track
AM & PM Runs w/ work assignment (limited avail) pre-reg here only - $60
Optional Practice Runs (if offered, double your track time) - $75
Lunch Touring Lap Session - $20/car

Bonus Fun:
Wet skidpad @ Shenandoah will be open free of charge for registered drivers in tech inspected cars after lunch if weather allows. Please don't park in/near the skidpad (Shenandoah events only.) We also do usually offer touring lap sessions at lunchtime and/or practice runs on another course, TBA per event.

Work Assignments:
We usually need a few extra sets of hands to help with tech in the morning then start/grid/timing during each heat. We offer a half-price entry as thanks for your time. Please contact Jon Felton BEFORE REGISTERING to get the worker discount code then sign up for one of the worker spots. Note: no beginners, novices, or first-timers please - must have significant experience from our trackcrosses to get this deal.

Car Classing:
Basic car classing exists so drivers compete against those in similar cars and/or of a similar skill level. It is each competitor's responsibility to class themselves correctly and to help class all other participants correctly.

Choose "Novice" (NOV) if you are a beginner or otherwise fairly new to this (less than 5 autocrosses, trackcrosses, HPDEs, or similar performance driving events in the last 2 years) regardless of car.

Choose "EXPO" (EXPO) if you don't care about car classing and/or don't want the chance to win stuff.

Otherwise please choose one of the following when you register...

Street car classes:
>>> Shall be for street legal production cars that are stock or have limited/basic bolt-on modifications like intakes or exhausts or springs/shocks, DOT 140+ treadwear street tires, full interiors, and little to no weight reduction.
SF1 = Street FWD under 2.5L naturally aspirated
SF2 = Street FWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, less than 400hp
SF3 = Street FWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, 400hp or more
SR1 = Street RWD under 2.5L naturally aspirated
SR2 = Street RWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, less than 400hp
SR3 = Street RWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, 400hp or more
SA1 = Street AWD under 2.5L naturally aspirated
SA2 = Street AWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, less than 400hp
SA3 = Street AWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, 400hp or more

Competition car classes:
>>> Shall be for street legal or non street legal competition or racing prepared cars with more extensive modifications like engine swaps or added forced induction, DOT R-compound tires or full slicks or any tire with less than 140 treadwear, gutted interiors, and/or significant weight reduction.
CF1 = Competition FWD under 2.5L naturally aspirated
CF2 = Competition FWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, less than 400hp
CF3 = Competition FWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, 400hp or more
CR1 = Competition RWD under 2.5L naturally aspirated
CR2 = Competition RWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, less than 400hp
CR3 = Competition RWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, 400hp or more
CA1 = Competition AWD under 2.5L naturally aspirated
CA2 = Competition AWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, less than 400hp
CA3 = Competition AWD over 2.5L NA + all forced induction, 400hp or more

Horsepower ratings for consideration above are at the crank, from manufacturer specifications and/or via best calculation on a dynamometer. If you swap your engine, add a supercharger/turbocharger, swap on a bigger turbo, run a very sticky tire, mount big aero, gut your interior, etc - your car goes to Competition class and probably bumps from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 (even if it's still a daily driver!) If you have any questions about your power level or about which class to select, please contact Jon Felton before registering.

Waiting List: If you register as a Waiting List entry because the event is already full, we will email you by 7am Saturday (i.e. 24 hours prior) if we have a spot for you. If not, that entry will automatically be applied to the next Summit Point Trackcross.
