Look for "Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints" app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store or click on the appropriate link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richta.cpa2&hl=en_US

Prior to the rally, all the checkpoint information (locations by Latitude and Longitude and the correct arrival times) is loaded onto the internet by the rally master. People who registered for the rally are given a car number and the password for the app. Each Rally Team then goes to the site and downloads the information for their car.  The contestants will NOT be able to view Rally Master information. During the rally, when each car reaches a checkpoint, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached with a “bing-bong” sound. The device will then display your time entered and your score and say “early” or “late”. Your total score for the rally to that point will also be displayed.

Visit the Richta app information page at http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ to learn more about how the app works and how to use it.

Accommodations available at the Days Inn of Whitmore Lake, 9897 Main Street, Whitmore Lake MI 48189, 734-550-0105.

Event requirements

Awards will be presented to the first and second place teams in each of the following classes:
E (Equipped) – unlimited equipment.
L (Limited)Odometer unrestricted (including GPS), and calculating device restricted only in that it may not be integrated with the odometer.
G - GPS-derived odometer integrated with any calculating device such as a rally “app” or rally computer.
S (Stock) – distance measurement limited to stock odometer, in stock location.  GPS odometers may NOT be used in this Class for any timing calculations.
N (Novice) – any team where the total number of rallies entered by the two members of the team does not exceed six (6); and equipment is restricted to that of the Stock class.

ATTENTION! If you intend to use a TSD rally app on your smart phone or tablet device in this rally, you MUST read the following carefully and register to compete in the appropriate equipment class – either Stock or Limited.

Stock class requires that you use an app that does not incorporate automatic mileage measurement from any distance measuring source. This includes any app that automatically accumulates mileage utilizing the device’s internal GPS. You must manually enter mileages into the app using the app’s mileage input function. Furthermore the mileages entered into the app must come from the car’s stock odometer. You may not use any external odometer or a GPS-based odometer app on a phone or tablet device for rally computer app mileage input sources in Stock class.

You may choose to use a TSD rally computer app on your phone or tablet that automatically accumulates mileage based upon input from the device’s internal GPS, or from a separate third-party GPS receiver. However, using an app that automatically accumulates distance based upon GPS position data places you into Limited or GPS. YOU CAN NOT RUN IN STOCK CLASS with any app that automatically accumulates mileage from any source.

If the chosen app uses the accumulated distance to calculate early or late times, you must enter in GPS class if the app uses GPS, or Equipped class for mileage fed from a wheel odometer.

Note that Novice class requirements are identical to Stock class. If you otherwise would qualify as a Novice class competitor (driver and navigator, combined, have competed in six or fewer rallies), but choose to use an app that automatically accumulates mileage from a GPS source you must compete in Limited or GPS class.

Son of Sno*Drift is NOT to be confused with the “Sno*Drift” Performance Rally, which is part of the American Rally Association series.  Son of Sno*Drift is expected to be a challenge to the driver, navigator and vehicle.  Suitable tires and nighttime driving lights are recommended.  Snow extraction equipment is also a wise idea.  This should include, warning triangle(s), tow strap, shovel, etc.
