Join us on TUESDAY November 19th, 2024 for a Sim racing event at Axon Driver Solutions in Burnaby (7337 N Fraser Wy, Burnaby, BC, V5J 0G7)

Sim Goats: The idea is for track enthusiasts to continue competing against their fellow track rat friends in the off season. The event will follow different formats, depending on the particular format for the evening.

Gates open at 6:30pm with on-sim activities from 6:40pm - 9:00pm. Early arrivals may begin their qualifying session early in order help make-up time loss due to driver changeover. Run groups will be determined on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Driving gloves are mandatory when using the Axon Driving Simulators (driving shoes are optional)

• Rubber gloves are provided for those that do not have any.

Entry Fee 

• $30 cash
• A $2 fee will be added for credit card transactions

Payment Notes:
1) Payments will be taken onsite and upon arrival.
2) Preferred payment method will be cash.
3) Payments taken via credit card will result in an additional $2 fee.
4) Include your full name as you have used on MSR

Registration Cap: 15
Should we exceed 15 drivers, we will look into hosting at the larger Richmond location.

Format:

Race

• The track will be Laguna Seca
• The car will be revealed during drivers' meeting
• Race format is a single 75 minute endurance race
  • 3 Drivers
  • All 3 drivers must have time behind the wheel
  • All teams will be on the track at once. Points deducted for unsportsperson-like conduct (if we have to invent a rule on the spot, it will not be in your favor)
• Each team will consist of 3 drivers based solely on Speedy Goat discretion (grouping requests are tolerated, but may not be honored)
• Drivers are not required to “pit” but there will be tire wear to force drivers into pitting anyway
  • Drivers will pull into the pitlane and must change drivers
  • Drivers must come to a complete stop to conduct a pitstop
  • As per the Assetto Corsa game rules, there will be a designated area in the pitlane for drivers to come to a complete stop to
  • Failure to comply will result in a 10 second penalty
  • Failure to comply will come at the discretion of the organizer
• All drivers must complete at least one stint
• Swap will be officiated by either SGMC or Axon staff

Qualify

• Each driver will have one 10 Minutes’ qualifying time in the public server
• Start position will be determined from qualifying. In events with no qualifying, the grid will be random
• After qualifying, drivers will be divided into three groups (at organizers discretion, no sandbagging)
• The session will also serve as a chance for drivers to practice the pit procedure

Early Bird Qualifying

• If you show up early, feel free to get started
• This helps us make up for any potential lost time during the evening
• This time will count as your qualifying session, but makes for a relaxed evening
• An early bird qualifying session will only run if enough drivers arrive for the start time.
• First 5 that show up is Group A
• The early bird qualifying session is not an extra practice session.
• The organizers have the right to not hold an early bird qualifying session.
