About this event
WELCOME! RMC BMW CCA (RMC) is thrilled to present our 2024 Spring High-Performance Driving School (HPDE). This 1-day, school provides a unique opportunity to drive your car at speed and to experience the thrill of becoming one with your car. The school is open to all current BMW CCA members who hold a full operator's license that does not require another qualified party to be a passenger in the vehicle for the license to be considered valid. Any individual under the age of 18 MUST first contact our Chief Driving Instructor (chief.instructor@rmcbmwcca.com) to proceed with registration.
Overview: This full-course HPDE is safe, demanding, and most importantly FUN! All students will alternate between classroom sessions and time on the track with an assigned instructor. Individualized instruction is a key to this program that has been developed over decades.
Registration Deadline: This event's registration will close at 7:00 pm on May 20, 2024. After this time, you are welcome to contact us for opportunities to volunteer, but we will not accept registrations after this date unless special arrangements have been approved by our Chief Driving Instructor.

Wait list: Our school is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't wait until the last minute to register, as your chance of being wait-listed increases the closer we get to the date of the event. If you are wait-listed, continue your preparations (for example, tech inspection) as if you were registered for the school. We often have last-minute cancelations, so there is a good chance that you will get in.
Vehicle Requirements: Most makes and models of vehicles are allowed at RMC Driving Schools. You do not have to have a BMW. However, for trucks, SUVs, and convertibles please read our FAQ (https://rmcbmwcca.org/hpde/driving-schools/frequently-asked-questions/) and Driving School Manual (https://rmcbmwcca.org/hpde/driving-schools/#driving-school-manual) which cover this topic in greater detail.
Car Number Guidelines: You will be prompted to enter your car number when you register. This number will be assigned to you for this school. Numbers are assigned, first-come, first-served. In the event of a conflict, the second driver will be asked to modify their number to something unique in their run group.
Student-Run Groups: Students are assigned to one of four Run Groups (A, B, C, or D) commensurate with their experience. D is for beginners, and A is the most advanced run group. The groupings are based on relative pace and are intended to minimize the speed disparity within each group. Therefore, a student may be assigned to one group higher or lower than they were at a previous school. Look for your run group when you get your schedule to see when and where you need to be during the day.
A-Solo Run Group: Experienced A-group drivers have the option to drive in the A-Solo Run Group with the approval of the Chief Instructor. Please contact the Chief Instructor at chief.instructor@rmcbmwcca.com for approval before registering.
Cancelation Policy:
- Cancelations must be done by emailing the Driving School Registrar (dsinfo@rmcbmwcca.org) AND canceling your registration on Motorsportreg.
- Cancelations received after May 20th will be charged a fee of $100 per driver.
- Refunds will be evaluated on a case-by-case emergency basis after May 20th.
REQUIRED Waivers: There are 2 REQUIRED waivers for each HPDE. The first is the High Plains Raceway (HPR) waiver which you will sign at the gate. HPR will give you a wristband at that time. The 2nd waiver is the RMC SpeedWaiver. The electronic waiver should be completed BEFORE you get to HPR. It will make your check-in process faster, If you do not have it completed, you will be asked to step out of line and get it done onsite.
Minor Waivers (under 18 years) Minors are allowed in the facility, but a parent or guardian must sign a minor waiver form on their behalf at the track, or it may be signed in advance if notarized.
Liability and Insurance - STUDENTS ASSUME ALL RISK OF DAMAGE TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY DURING THE EVENT. This includes times when instructors are driving your car. Your auto insurance policy most likely does not cover you or your car when you are on the track. While we have an excellent safety record, this is a high-speed event with inherent risks. By checking the "Accept" box below, you certify that you have read and understood the above-referenced Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement
