About this event
The 3-day course is our premier program where you will gain a comprehensive insight into professional race car driving. This program is SCCA accredited and after completion, you will have the opportunity to be approved for a novice license!
We provide thorough classroom theory, advanced driving techniques, and meticulous instruction, which ultimately results in driving our Radical race cars at their limits.
Day 1 - We focus on racing fundamentals including oversteer, understeer, and braking. In addition to applying these skills on the autocross course, ice hill, and skidpad, we also introduce you to the Radical SR1s and the race track. Our goal is for you to become comfortable with the car and learn the layout of the track. You will be able to apply your knowledge in a safe and fun environment.
Day 2 - We teach the importance of track walks and talk about different racing lines and ideal passing zones. We do close-proximity training with a guided passing exercise as well as our side by side exercise. We then jump into open lapping giving you real freedom for the first time. You will begin to put everything you've learned into practice along with track etiquette and flags. Our instructors will review video from your onboard camera and give you input on what to improve on for your next session.
Day 3 - We complete your final day of training with a more intensive focus on the track. Our goal for this day is for you to develop your skills to give you the confidence to drive competitively on the track. We teach the basics of racecraft and you begin to learn how a racer needs to think and adapt on track. We spend the morning hours open lapping with our instructors reviewing your onboard video. As a final test we perform real race starts and restarts. This test will give you the opportunity to train for what it feels like to take a green flag with other cars. You will feel the butterflies as you go double file and you must learn to control your nerves to stay cool, calm, and collective to be ready to see that green flag.
