Twilight Event at Pocono!
Pocono Raceway - North Course!
Saturday September 8th - 4:00pm to 12:00am
We have received a great amount of interest from both students and solo drivers who wished this event were going to take place on a Saturday Night and provide for student and solo drivers!
Pocono Raceway has been able to provide us with a Saturday night date to host this event and we are providing instructors for the first 20 students to sign up!
We can now allow the first 20 students (Green, Yellow drivers with Instructors required) to sign up.
The first 20 Instructors who sign up will be able to run at no charge.
All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience, skill, and type of vehicle based on the experience of the applicants. Participants not "signed off" to solo will be required to drive with an instructor on board at all times.
This event is open to all makes and model vehicles.
We have been able to keep the cost of this event below $200.00.
An Afternoon - Night Track Event!
Only $195.00
You will receive the same amount of track time as a daytime HPDE.
This event will start in daylight, 4:00 pm and we will continue driving into darkness before ending at 12:00 am.
Students should sign up early as this event is sure to sell out!
Join the Motorsports Rehabilitation Foundation and the Independent Motorsports Group for our Pocono Twilight North Course High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) Event.
This is the first Twilight event of this type to be offered in the Northeast!
Pocono Raceway has been repaved for 2012!
We will be allowing the first 20 students to sign up and experience the Pocono North Course at this event.
There will be a 30 minute Sprint Race held by IMG at the end of the HPDE event. The Sprint Race includes a 24 minute daytime practice, 24 minute qualifying at dusk, and a 30 minute feature race at 11:15 PM. The Sprint Race is open to all racers with a current race license from IMG or a recognized sanctioning body.
The Sprint Race will not interfere with the HPDE. This race will be the grand finale to the HPDE event. All are welcome to stay after the HPDE event and spectate.

In teaming up with IMG, Motorsports Rehabilitation Foundation will be able to provide some unique features to this HPDE event that are a rarity at other HPDE events. For those who are interested, IMG is offering timing for our HPDE participants. Although, the HPDE portion is not a part of the race, IMG is offering lap timers for those in the Solo run groups at a great rental price of $35.00! During or after the event you can keep track of your lap times and even compare to the other cars in your run group! After the event you will be able to review your lap times posted on IMG Racing’s website. This is truly a unique feature for an HPDE that is yet another way to improve your skills.

MRF and IMG are providing you the following:
A track event sub $200.00
Limited number of solo/advanced participants and open to the first 20 students in the instructed run group.
Track time in daylight and as the sun goes down, a night track event. The sun sets at 7:18! You will have two runs in daylight and the rest as the sun goes down and the lights come on. Cooler temps mean more HP!
Lighting is being provided on the North Course of the super speedway, corners, flag stations, pit-out, staging, paddock area the garage areas.
Flag stations will be manned by Professional Flaggers.
Track Side Dinner. There will be a banquet style dinner with serving stations consisting of pasta, salad, snacks and beverages and of course, coffee will be available throughout the night.

The Twilight Event schedule will be:
(same as a normal track event only starting at 4:00pm versus 8:00am)
Gates open at 4:00pm
(Trailer/car drop off available all day Saturday)
Registration and Tech Inspection from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Drivers Meeting at 5:15pm
First car on track at 6:00pm
Dinner provided from 7:30 to 8:30pm
Track closes at 12:00am
Location:
The event will be run on the North Course at Pocono Raceway in Longpond, PA. The "North Course" features a 1.5 mile road course with 9 challenging turns and utilizes a portion of the high bank oval and turn 3 of the NASCAR circuit. There will be a full service paddock space. Amenities on this circuit include concession buildings, event garages, cafeteria and fuel pumps.

This is first event of this type in the Northeast and all proceeds help the mission of MRF.
This event will help perfect your daytime and night driving since this is an HPDE event.
Lessons and skills learned at these events really do transfer to everyday driving, as we all know. Now we have the opportunity to perfect our skills at twilight! There really is no better way to improve your skills.
This is not a racing school, nor is it a competitive event.
The event organizers and Directors at MRF, CI and Event Master Scott Lynn, Michele Randall and Eugene Hahn have over 25 years experience in HPDE's through the Porsche Club of America and Audi Club of America and have successfully hosted other HPDE events at Pocono Raceway. They have experience with night track events.

Event requirements
Please read the following prior to signing up for this event:
Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license with a photo ID.
All cars that will run at night must have working headlights, tail lights and brake lights to run at night.
All drivers must have a helmet with a Snell SA or MA 2005 certification or newer.
Long sleeve shirts and pants are required for all drivers and passengers on track.
All cars must pass a Pre-Inspection and Event Tech Inspection.
This event runs rain or shine.
Tech Inspection:
Students cars are to pass a pre-tech Inspection. Instructors may complete & self-sign the Pre-Event Safety Inspection form and the Event Tech Inspection form. Instructors are not required to have their vehicles teched in the event tech line. However, instructors must submit the completed forms to an Event Tech staff to receive their tech and run group sticker. Student cars must pass the on-site inspection.
Student drivers will be required to have a qualified individual/mechanic inspect your vehicle and verify its safety. They must complete page 1 of the form found below. This inspection must occur within two weeks of the event, but with enough time to fix any issues which are uncovered. Please plan accordingly and bring this to the track! Instrudtors may self-tech their own vehicles.
On the afternoon of the event our tech crew will collect all Pre-Event Safety Inspection Reports and perform a spot check of every vehicle. You are solely responsible for insuring that your vehicle is safe before you come to the track. Failure to present a completed Pre-Event Safety Inspection Report or failure to pass our spot check will disqualify you from participation in the event and your entry fee will be forfeited
The evening of September 8, 2012, Tech inspection and registration will occur in the paddock area and shall open sharply at 4:00pm and close sharply at 5:00am. Drivers Meeting Begins at 5:15pm. First car out is at 6:00pm.
Other Requirements:
All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience, skill, and type of vehicle based on the experience of the applicants. Only 20 students will be premitted to run. All other drivers must have on track experience. All registrations will be reviewed for the event to confirm an advanced driving level. Under no circumstances will timed laps be permitted!
All participants must driving within their limits and adhere to the terms found in the Waiver. Failure to comply will result in expulsion from the event without refund.
If you are seen with a timing device at any time or are driving irresponsibly you will be asked to leave and forfeit your ability to participate in this or future MRF Driving Schools.
Medical Information Form:
Completion of the Medical Information Form is at the option of the Applicant, though it is highly recommended. Complete this section within your profile if you would like rescue personnel at the racetrack to have your medical information readily available should you incur personal injuries or suffer from an illness while participating in the event. If you opt to complete the form, you must strictly follow the instructions. A sealed envelope with this form will be delivered to the rescue personnel before driving begins. After conclusion of the event, your envelope and its contents will be shredded.
Instructors:
To qualify as an instructor, you must have previously been certified by a sanctioning body or another acceptable group/club. Please contact the CI, Scott, prior to signing up in order to confirm your status.

- Students only...Must have the first page of the Tech form completed by a certified mechanic within 2 weeks of event.
- Brake fluid must be changed prior to the event.
- There will be a Pre-event safety check on the day of the event which your car must pass to be eligible to participate.
- Failure to meet safety check or incomplete Tech forms will disqualify advanced drivers from the event and forfeiture of entry fee.
- Open cars (convertibles) must have rollover protection which meets or exceeds the specs found on the tech form. No SUVs are permitted on track.
- Equal restraints (seats and belts) are required for driver and instructor and must be securely mounted to stock mounting points or directly to the frame. Additional requirements are listed on the tech form.

Note: While the event organizers will make every effort to maximize track time, due to the possible track conditions and weather the number of sessions and session length can not be guaranteed.
