Event requirements
Students:
Participants will require a helmet that is in good condition with a minimum Snell M2005 or Snell SA2005 certification.
All street legal plated and insured automobiles / Marques are welcome. High centre-of-gravity vehicles (SUVs) are generally not eligible to participate due to a higher risk of rollover. Some models (BMW X1/X3/X5/X6, Porsche Cayenne) may be acceptable in the novice/beginner groups. Please check with us before registering to verify.
Non-plated specialty vehicles (track/race car) are approved on a case by case basis and are allowed in the Instructors and Advanced run groups only.
Convertible cars are eligible to participate if they have appropriate rollover protection. Please contact the registrar if you wish to participate with a convertible. Inspections will be arranged as required.
Basic requirements: Factory Rollover protection (bars) like Z3, Z4, Boxster are ok for Novice/Beginner groups. For more experienced students or instructors, full SCCA/CASC approved rollbars are required (bracing, proper tube size etc). Broomstick rule will be applied (must be clearance over top of helmet). 'Pop-up' protection like 3er or 911 convertibles are not sufficient. Check with us first if you are in doubt!
Calabogie is a long and challenging track, with over 20 corners (many blind) and numerous elevation changes. Novice and Beginner students are only eligible for Saturday/Sunday. Intermediate and Advanced students may also participate on Friday but must be pre-approved by the chief instructor. If you have not come on Friday before please check with us first before signing up for three days.
'A Solo'- a new option is offered for Advanced students for a small additional fee. Approved 'A' students that wish to enjoy the event in a more collaborative environment, we are offering 'A Solo'. This group will offer increased track time (option to drive in all 'A' and most 'I' sessions). Coaches will be assigned to the A-Solo group for the weekend and be available as needed by the individual students. Regular discussions will take place as an informal group rather than the standard classroom type experience. Contact us for more information and to check your eligibiility to this new group.
