DRIVER SCHOOL & LAPPING DAY
AT BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
June 24, 2024 and September 16, 2024

Suburban Corvettes of Minnesota will have Two Drivers Schools and Lapping Days at Brainerd International Raceway in 2024. These driver schools will provide you with the opportunity to develop your driving skills in the controlled environment of a closed circuit and then they can be used for normal street driving, autocrossing or racing. It’s also a chance for the experienced racer to get lots of track time.
Whether the sun shines or it rains, the Driver School and Lapping goes on.
- Instructors will use “follow the leader” and in car instruction technique. Helmets must be worn when in the car together at all times.
PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR TECH SHEET BELOW. NO ON SITE TECH ON DAY OF THE EVENT. NO ENTRANCE WITHOUT YOUR TECH SHEET. - There will be no on site lunch this event. The Wheelie Bar will be closed. So bring your own food AND NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. Please stay hydrated.
- The Drivers Meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m. in the Competition Track meeting room adjacent to the paddock. Please be on time.

Lodging
Rooms are blocked for “Suburban Corvettes” ($104, 2 beds, 2 people) at ARROWWOOD Lodge At Brainerd Lakes, 6967 Lake Forest Road, Baxter, MN. 56401, 877-687-5634, 218-822-5572
The cut-off date for reserving a room with the special rate is MAY 23rd or AUGUST 15th, 2024 Arrowwood cannot grant the group rate after the cut-off date due to the fact that the hotel is frequently full. Guest may cancel 48 hrs prior to arrival. There will be a get together dinner at Arrowwood club room at 6:30 pm for all attendees. Order and pay from the menu.
Please check with your auto insurance. You may not be covered while on the track.

There is a limit of 60 drivers for each school. You will be permitted 3 crew members to assist you. Be sure you sign up early so that you don’t miss the opportunity.

You will need to bring: Helmet-minimum Snell 2015 (no loaner helmets); non-synthetic material shirt; non-synthetic material long pants; Full coverage shoes (no sandals); full tank of gas; An open mind; COMPLETED TECH INSPECTION FORM; NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS.
Note: You will need a minimum of a SA 2015 helmet in 2024.

No student under 18 years of age.
___MIRRORS At least one securely mounted rearview.
___BRAKE LIGHTS Functional. ___BRAKES- Check for sufficient Linings or pads. Check condition of rotors and brake lines. Start with fresh pads and bring an extra set with you.
___BRAKE FLUID - Check level. Change within 90 days of event.
___BATTERY - securely fastened no leaks or corrosion.
___DRIVE BELTS - Tight and in good condition.
___LEAKS - No leaks of any kind, oil, gas, brake, or coolant.
___RUST - No structural rust or damage to brakes or suspension.
___SEAT BELTS - Original factory installation in good condition, no frayed or torn belts. Five point harness recommended.
___THROTTLE RETURN - Check linkage and return springs.
___SUSPENSION - No excessive looseness in steering or suspension. Ball joints in good condition, tie rods secure. CV boots in good condition. All mounting bolts secure.
___WHEEL BEARINGS - Check for proper lubrication.
___EXHAUST - No excessive smoke. working muffler in place.
___WHEELS -No cracks or bends, check lug nut torque.
___TIRES - No cracks or bulges, minimum 3/32” tread depth, HR or better rated. Spare removed or secured.
___GAS CAP Gasket - intact and cap tightened
___EQUAL RESTRAINTS – Two seats with equal restraints for passenger and driver.

Please check in at the registration table at the meeting room as soon as you arrive. The Drivers Meeting is MANDATORY and starts promptly at 8:00 AM. Come to the competition track area and go into the meeting room to check in.
