About this event

Event Announcement

Hawaii Rally Sport Association (HRSA) and National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Hawaii Region are happy to announce the Make-A-Wish Hawaii Charity Auto-X with HRSA-NASA Hawaii Region event on Saturday, December 14, 2024. The Auto-X will be held at the Aloha Stadium Lower Lot, Honolulu, Hawaii.

NASA Auto-X is low speed car control competition and is the most readily accessible form of asphalt motorsport in the National Auto Sport Association's many motorsport offerings. It's the perfect place to see if you have what it takes to power and control your way to victory. Imagine a scaled down version of a road course laid out on a paved parking lot where the course is delineated by traffic cones. Vehicles are released on course, one at a time, to maintain safe vehicle distancing. Best of all, it's great fun!

The Auto-X will have a VIP ALL DAY run group, a lunch time worker/volunteer run group and an afternoon (PM) worker run group. The event is by invitation only. Only sign up for the Run Group for which you are invited.

We intentionally keep participation numbers low in order to provide our invitees with lots of seat time. All participants, pit crew and spectators (when allowed) must be pre-approved and on the approved entry roster at the gate to be allowed on site.

The event organizers have over a decade of experience hosting-insuring-sanctioning motorsports events in Hawaii. In fact, some of the group's members are responsible for bringing the first NASA events to the islands. They also started RallyCross events in Hawaii over 14 years ago. Our members have also assisted JN Exotics with their Track Day Events and served as Safety Stewards and participants at multiple Autocross and Rallycross type events throughout the State of Hawaii.

SPECIAL NOTE: There is a maximum pre-registration requirement of 15 Drivers for each Run Group for this event. Registrations beyond 15 drivers will be placed on a waitlist without any guarantee of participation. The registrant will be notified ASAP of any available racing slots. The AM and PM Run Groups will be separated by a Lunch Session. During that Lunch Session the HRSA-NASA Hawaii volunteers will be on course.

This autocross event is sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and participation is by invitation only. State of Hawaii and City and County of Honolulu Covid-19 restrictions and requirements will be practiced. Current facemask and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Due to the restrictions, only participants and their pit crew-guests are allowed to be on-site.

Hawaii Rally Sport Association (HRSA) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit group who host, promote and support Hawaii based Motorsports and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education Programs in the State of Hawaii. Proceeds from the events we host-insure-sanction will go to charity. Our current charity beneficiary is Make-A-Wish Hawaii.

HRSA is very fortunate to have partial sponsorship for the 2024 season from these generous companies: Tanioka's Seafoods and Catering, Circuit Hawaii, Inc., Enzo Designs, and Oona Racing.

Cancellation Fees

For all Autocrosses, and Rallycrosses: All sales final – no cancellation, refund, or credit. Entry is transferrable to another person for this event only. If you are having car problems, your best option is to bring a different car. If you find you cannot attend for any other reason, your best option is to sell or give the spot to someone else qualified to participate, then let us know whose name to put on it by 72 hours prior.

Competitor Requirements

Competitors and passengers must present a valid driver’s license, and if under 18-years of age, they must contact the Region for a waiver form. This form will need to be signed by the participant’s parents prior to competition. Passengers must sign waivers and provide emergency contact information.

Closed Toe Shoes. All competitors, passengers and anyone on the active "hot side" course area are required to wear closed toe shoes.

HelmetsHelmets must be worn by all drivers and passengers during competition. Helmets must be in good condition, fit properly, provide adequate peripheral vision and the chinstrap must be securely fastened. All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2020, M2020, SA2015, SAH2015, M2015, K2015),  FIA helmets 8859-2015 standards are acceptable.

Vehicle Requirements

Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle -fully muffled, seat belts in working order- to the Tech Inspection Team prior to competition. Vehicles shall not have leaking fluids or “enhanced” tires (no home made or studded tires) when applicable. Vehicles with a high center of gravity or excessive noise may not be allowed to participate; this is at the discretion of the Event Chairman and Tech Inspector.

Each car owner must pick a car number to easily identify their car on course. Only one number is needed per car, not per driver. Numbers are first-come, first-serve per event, so register early. Please use magnets, or print/write large numbers on paper. The numbers must be readable from 100 feet away.

Multiple Drivers Per Car (Co-drivers)

There is a maximum of two drivers per race car. Both drivers will have to be registered as drivers and have paid their entry fee. Otherwise, the registered driver may share his/her allocated runs.

Competition Vehicle Classes

Classes for the 2024 Season shall be: Ax, Bx, Cx, Dx, Ex, Fx, Gx, Ox, Rx and Xx. You may download the 2024 NASA Auto-X Rules and General Competition Rules.

Additional Information and Things to Consider

Bring lots of sun screen and water. Stay hydrated. Cars on course are operating at speed and can deviate from the course, pay attention. While driving in the pits, drive slowly and pay attention to your surroundings. Everyone needs to be aware of your surroundings and place safety as the top priority. You get to Auto-X, so enjoy yourself and have fun!

The AM, Lunch and PM Participants are under the following mandates:

1) Due to the invitational nature of this event, you will be billed even if you cancel your entry. So please attend or notify the organizers with at least 1 week advanced notice so they can find a replacement entrant to cover your fees. If no replacement can be found you will be billed for the event. This is necessary to cover the Event Sanction, Insurance and Venue Rental Fees.

2) If you do not show up to the event without canceling, you will be billed.

3) All HRSA - NASA Hawaii events are organized and executed by volunteers who have donated their time and resources. They are passionate individuals who share this awesome sport with you.

4) Without your good cooperation, and without the help of our volunteers, these race events could not be possible.
