About this event
The Greater Washington Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America will be joined by members of the Chesapeake Region of the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club in the morning on Saturday, June 1, 2024, for a tour of historic Woodlawn Mansion & the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Pope-Leighey House. The tour will start promptly at 10:00 a.m., and by lunchtime, around noon, we will relax in a shaded area next to the mansion to enjoy a self-catered picnic lunch. The grounds are free and open to the public, but the property has kindly reserved the tours that morning exclusively for MBCA and RROC members who register.
Tickets are $20 per person and we must give a final count and payment two weeks in advance, so please register here by Friday, May 17!
Along with your picnic lunch culinary favorites (don't forget the Grey Poupon, ha!), please bring chairs, picnic baskets, picnic blankets, bug spray, sunscreen, etc., as there is no specifically designated picnic area at the property, and we will be welcoming the seasonal transition month of June.
Speaking of celestial events, convening together over the last several years as enthusiasts of both the Star Marque and the Spirit of Ecstasy inspires a novel Latin catchphrase for our festive gatherings:
AD ASTRA SPIRITU ECSTASY!
You heard it here first!
