MAX BMW Motorcycles is excited to partner with Lime Rock Park for a Track Day Friday, July 1, 2022. Open to all BMW Motorcycles. This is a BMW ONLY Event. Experienced track day riders only, no first-timers.
MAX BMW open track time is a way for you to fine-tune your track skills. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and do lead/follow for beginners.
ADVANCED GROUP FAST (30): For advanced riders or racers who have done many track days/competitive events. Open passing.
INTERMEDIATE GROUP (20): For intermediate riders or who have done 3+ track days/competitive events. limited passing. GS,RT,K series and airhead
BEGINNER GROUP (10): For novice track day riders who have completed at least1 track day. This group will have lead follow for half of the intermidate session
If you have never done a track day before or have issue with open passing please sign up for a Fishtail riding school event - they're great!
The first session will start at 9:00 am, registration will begin at Lime Rock at 8:00 am. Groups will trade on an off-track for 20 minute sessions.
We will be on track until 1:00 pm.
Event requirements
Requirements for you and your bike: READ THIS. IF YOU HAVE TO CALL ME TO ASK ABOUT YOUR GEAR IT'S PROBABLY NOT SUITABLE FOR THE TRACK.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THESE REQUIREMENTS, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE. YOU WILL BE SENT AWAY TO FIND GEAR NO REFUND.
Suit - You need a full-coverage protective riding suit. The suit can be a one-piece suit or two-pieces that zip together.
Feet – You must have motorcycle boots that cover your ankles. Motorcycle sneakers will not be allowed.
Hands – Look for hard material on the knuckles and fingers to protect you. Choose gloves with a generous gauntlet and a strap that encircles the wrist
Head – Properly fitted helmet. Must be a M2015 rated helmet.
Insurance-You must have medical insurance. It's very expensive if you get hurt.
If you have questions if your gear will pass you are not Advanced and should sign up for a riders school. Our friends at Fishtail riding school can give you the proper training.
All motorcycles must pass a technical inspection before riding. If your bike fails technical inspection you cannot ride it on the track until the failure is corrected. Please make sure that your bike will pass a technical inspection before arriving at the track.
- Mufflers required Have something on the bike.
- 50% tire tread remaining
- 50% brake pads remaining
- The throttle must operate smoothly with no binding or sticking. Open the throttle 100% and release it. The grip must return fully to the original position without sticking.
- Properly adjusted chain
- No fluid leaks (safety wire and coolant drain are NOT required)
HINT: Pull all your gear out before the event. Put in your car or trailer the day before!!! We don't have extra gear if you forget your helmet or boots.
