ABOUT THE SKID PAD COURSE:

• Course designed to advance all experience levels: no prior track experience necessary.
• Suitable for all drivers with a valid license (16-17 require parent waiver).
• Skills applicable to both dry and wet driving.
• Wet skid pad provides a forgiving learning environment.
• Small group size (maximum 10 students) ensures individual attention.
• Radios provided for each in-car coaching by Johan.
• Video presentation covers the theory before the event.
• Half-day and full-day sessions available (lunch provided for full day participants)
• Want more seat time?  Sign up for both days!
• Bring your own car or rent from us (BMW M235iR racecar)
• Helmet NOT required.
• Events held at Carolina Motorsports Park is in Kershaw, SC.

COURSE GOALS:

• Recognize and react to loss of grip: Learn to identify the early signs of a skid (both understeer and oversteer) and understand how to regain control.
• Develop smooth and precise hand and footwork: Master the techniques of counter-steering, throttle control, and weight transfer to maintain control during a skid.
• Learn how to minimize damage and avoid hitting obstacles even when a slide cannot be fully corrected.
• Improve your track driving skills: Gain confidence in pushing your car to its limits and experience the thrill of controlled sliding.
• Enjoy the thrill of drifting using throttle and steering control properly.
