IIRA Wheel to Wheel race and Open Track Day
IIRA's Saturday events include both wheel to wheel racing as well as an open track day. Throughout the day, the course will be used for alternating wheel to wheel and open track sessions in the afternoon. All wheel to wheel entries will be allowed on course during open track times.
Schedule: (Schedule may vary based on attendance)
- 9:00 AM: Driver's meeting
- 10:00 AM: Wheel to wheel practice
- 10:30 AM: Open track session
- 11:00 AM: Wheel to wheel racing
- 11:30 AM: Open track session
- 12:00 PM: Lunch break
- 1:00 PM: Wheel to wheel racing
- 1:30 PM: Open track session
- 2:00 PM: Wheel to wheel racing
- 2:30 PM: Open track session
- 3:00 PM: Wheel to wheel racing
- 3:30 PM: Open track session
- 4:00 PM: End of event
All events are subject to ice and weather conditions. YOU WILL ONLY BE CHARGED FOR THE EVENT AFTER IT HAS HAPPENED, so you will not pay when you register. Your credit card on file will charged on the Monday after the event takes place.
Location is still to be determined. All venues will be within about a 1.5-hour drive from the Twin Cities. This event will be updated as soon as the location is confirmed.
Common locations are:
- Madison Lake (near Mankato, MN)
- Pokegama Lake (near Pine City, MN)
- East Rush Lake (near Rush City, MN)
- North Center Lake (near Lindstrom, MN)
Event requirements
An IIRA license is required for all drivers participating in wheel to wheel and open track events. Multiple licensed drivers may share a single car entry. Please purchase an annual IIRA license here if you'd like to register.

All wheel to wheel cars are required to have a Flagtronics FT200 transponder. There will be a limited number available to rent for $50 with a $300 deposit.
