October 12th, Day 2 (Saturday Day/Night) Driving Miles 138, Driving Time 4:00hrs (approx., not including stops)
Leave Wayside Inn on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. after breakfast/coffee (plan your own) traveling through Front Royal for the first leg of the Skyline Drive tour and exiting towards Luray, Virginia, for Luray Caverns, their car museum, lunch, etc... There are costs to enter Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, the car museum, lunch, etc. paid for by the attendee when entering each location. This is a “pay as you go” event (individual payments required). From Luray, travel south on Rt. 340 to Elkton, Virginia, and re-enter Skyline Drive heading towards Waynesboro, Virginia. Exit at Waynesboro and travel Rt. 250 west to Staunton, Virginia. Saturday evening, we’ll stay at Tru by Hilton Staunton for a rate of $225.00 a night with free breakfast. The hotel is close to downtown Staunton, Virginia. The American Shakespeare Center is located in Staunton for those wishing to take in a live play, and many restaurants are located in Staunton. Each person will be responsible for their lunch/dinner/drinks. If folks would like a group dinner, happy to arrange that event.

October 13th, Day 3 (Sunday Day/Night Optional) Driving Miles 85, Driving Time 2:30hrs (not including stops)
Sunday morning (leave at your leisure) drive back up Rt. 11 north (using Rt. 276/Rt. 717 around Harrisonburg, VA) to enjoy things offered along Rt. 11, Potato Chip Factory, Caverns, Antiques, Museums, etc.., to your next destination (home) or stay overnight again at Wayside Inn & Larrick's Tavern to visit Walt Moyers Rolls-Royce Service Center, in Front Royal on Monday morning. For those staying over Sunday night, entertainment could include the Family Drive-In just four miles north on Rt.11 outside Middletown, Virginia.
Driving the Route:
It’s tough to “drive as a train” due to traffic, stop signs/lights, etc. We can, perhaps, do this on Skyline Drive if everyone meets at the entrance, but it will still be challenging. Would suggest a “buddy or group” method where two to four cars drive together based on relationships, personalities, points of interest, etc. This method gives folks things to discuss with others during breakfast/lunch/dinner/happy hour. Ultimately, it’s your weekend, so do what’s the most fun for you and your friends in the club.
