About this event
SPTF is proud to partner with goTenna and offer training courses. This training course is taught by former Special Operations Forces subject matter experts with decades of real-world experience, training, and certifications. Each course can be customized to fit customer needs.
WHAT IS TAK?
The Team Awareness Kit (TAK) is a cost-effective, government off-the-shelf (GOTS) solution that enables tactical data to be generated, visualized, and shared, facilitating communication across multiple users to achieve shared tactical awareness. Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (FSLTT) government agencies deploy geospatial information system (GIS)-based applications like TAK to support the complex communication and coordination needs of a multi-jurisdictional incident response, special events, and everyday law enforcement and fire operational needs.
TAK allows disparate organizations to effectively communicate and maintain shared tactical awareness when a disaster response or special event brings together organizations that do not communicate daily and need a quick and easy way to be able to do so.
Enhanced TAK “Train-the-Trainer" Course
What It Is: The Enhanced "Train-The-Trainer” three day training course combines TAK 101 and Train the Trainer courses to prepare students to go back to their home agencies and provide basic TAK training to future end-users, in connected and disconnected environments. Focus areas include:
- Comprehensive iTAK or ATAK training, depending on home agency needs. Training includes deep dives on each iTAK/ATAK feature for mission planning and live operational use.
- Integrating goTenna mesh network technology to mitigate comms denied environments.
- Onboarding new end-users, building frequency sets, deploying encryption keys, managing current end users, and backhauling to a TAK server.
- Outdoor practical exercises, to include establishing a mesh network integrated with a TAK application to maintain situational awareness in a comms denied environment.
At the end of the course, end-users will be able to:
- Use TAK to plan and execute a real-world mission for a tactical team, in a connected or disconnected environment.
- Effectively use iTAK/ATAK in real-world environments.
- Backhaul to a TAK server.
- Navigate iTAK/ATAK file structure on the mobile device.
- Import and share via AirDrop or Quick Share files like off-line maps and Mission Packs from one device to another.
- Determine range and bearing between points on a map.
- Build and navigate routes on a map manually and automatically.
- Create cordons and geofences with shapes in iTAK/ATAK
- Create and send shapes, data packages, and other items over a TAK or local server.
- Mange overlays, maps, and imagery.
- And more...
