As one of our more complex undertakings, we are pleased to announce plans for our fun-filled day of activities in celebration of Porsche's 75th Anniversary.
Join your fellow PCA Members on June 10th; we have lots on tap for you and the family. Please read the following information carefully, and consider joining us for one or all of the day’s events.
Kindly note that we anticipate significant interest in the activities which will take place across the Region. As no event has unlimited capacity, we kindly request that you do not block a spot if you are unsure of your availability. Due to various commitments, we must make in support of this event, multiple cancellation deadlines are in effect. They are noted below, on the registration page and in the confirmation email you will receive after you register. Please read carefully. Additionally, with only one exception on the Southside, events are a la carte, so you can register for only the portions you'd like to attend.
Our day starts off with our monthly breakfasts in Richmond (Joe’s Bon Air) and Chesapeake (Pop’s Diner). As we expect higher than normal attendance, we are asking you register for breakfast for our planning purposes, but meal tabs will be pay as you go as usual.
After breakfast, those near Richmond are invited to head over to Euroclassics Porsche for an Open House which will feature live streaming of the LeMans 24, a special car display, fun, snacks, drinks, and camaraderie. If you can't make it to breakfast, you're welcome to join in at the dealership, we just need you to register for the headcount. The Open House starts at 11AM.
For those located in the Chesapeake area, after breakfast, we will offer a fun run (registration required) from Pop’s Diner to Checkered Flag Porsche (approximately 90 minute duration, $5 per person) at which point those registered will be treated to a special car display, music by the Red Stapler Duo, enough snacks to make a light lunch and drinks including juices and a coffee bar. Kindly note that your Fun Run wristband is required to access food at the dealership and can only be obtained at the Drivers Meeting at Pop's Diner.
After each dealership visit, Fun Runs will depart (from Euroclassics at 3PM, 2.5 hours in duration and from Checkered Flag, 3 hours in duration), both arriving at our final venue for the day, Upper Shirley Vineyards. Fun Run cost per person is $5.
Those arriving in the fun run groups or on their own are welcome to join us for a cocktail reception, dinner, and awards (short, we promise) ceremony. We also have some fun surprises in store for you. The dress code is business casual so everyone can focus on fun and not on their couture.
Here are the evening’s details:
Guests arrive at Upper Shirley Vineyard between 5:30 and 6PM. Cocktail hour starts at 6PM and each registrant will receive 2 drink tickets (cash bar thereafter) and we'll enjoy passed appetizers featuring Virginia Ham Biscuits with Ham Salad, Gruyere and house made biscuits, and Veggie Spring Rolls with Spicy Sweet Chili Sauce. We hope to also live stream LeMans for those interested, or you can enjoy the scenic outdoor deck with your friends and family.
Our dining room will open at 7PM and service will include a set menu of Seasonal Salad, Petit Filet with Red Wine Demi-Glace, Grilled Shrimp, Yukon Mashed Potatoes, Malibu Carrots and Chocolate Pot De Crème for dessert. After dinner, we have a few surprises in store for you and those interested may enjoy the bar, dancing and socializing as our DJ helps keep the celebration going until 10PM.
To commemorate this special event, we have also produced a limited number of event t-shirts. These ice grey-colored shirts feature a custom-designed event logo and the FSR logo on the sleeve are available for pre-order. For those that may be unavailable to attend our day of celebration, delivery by USPS is also available.
Please note the cancellation policy: Cancellations must be submitted to the Registrar via your My Dashboard page. Cancellation deadline for the Fun Runs is 3 June. Cancellation deadline for the dinner at Upper Shirley Vineyards is 25 May. There will be no refunds after these dates.
