About this event
Come and join us for a mostly rural south Island adventure! Challenge your friends to join in, starting and ending in Duncan. It will be a fun day on scenic back roads, all paved. The trick is to “stay on time” to avoid any time penalties. Remember, this is not a race, but a precision driving event that pits a team of two, a driver & navigator, to negotiate some fantastic roads, at challenging, but below legal limit speeds. Sure, it sounds easy, but it’s not! This is a true novice event, so everything is clearly spelled out, with easy to follow instructions, recovery points if you get lost, and talented rallyists with years of experience to (hopefully) get you into rallysport, by answering questions and giving guidance. From the "Novice Drivers Meeting”, scrutineering (checking that your car meets rally rules) your car, throughout the event, to the dinner and awards, as well as team critique at the finish, you will have a BLAST! Smiles and stories, guaranteed.
Event requirements
Please be sure to read the Falling Leaves Supplemental Regulations (Supp Regs). That's the official name for the document that gives you more detail about this particular Time Speed Distance novice rally. It is all paved, so no worries about gravel damage.
You will need to have a smart phone with the Richta Competitor app installed for continual operation during this rally.
Since the car you use has to meet basic requirements, mostly safety related, you should get the check-off list (officially called the Tech Check form) so you can check ahead of time.
