ABOUT EXCITEGP ROUND 2:
ExciteGP is a style focused grassroots competition drift series put on by iTrack Motorsports. These events are designed to give drivers maximum seat time. With open drift sessions and hot lapping qualifying, there is no shortage of driving. For drivers competing in the ExciteGP competition, all cars are required to have all bodywork, painted, and complete.
ExciteGP Round 2 will kick off on Saturday August 3rd at Carolina Motorsports Park! We are extremely excited to host our 4th ExciteGP at Carolina Motorsports Park!
We will kick off at 9am on both the road course and kart track. We will begin with start/stop lines on the front straights of both tracks and let drivers get some solo runs to warm up. As the morning progresses we will start tandem runs. We have decided to move the Clubsport competition to the kart track and Legends to the road course. Qualifying will start at 11:00am and be open for 2 hours. If you are not running comp, just keep driving as usual! After lunch, we will go back hot at 2pm on both tracks. We will stop the kart track at 4pm to run top 16 for clubsport. If all goes well, we will open the kart track back up for the remainder of the day. The road course will continue to run during this time until 6pm.
On Sunday morning, we will open both tracks at 9:00am. We will start off with a quick Legends Top 16 comp no the road course with open track on the kart track. After the comp we will take a small break for lunch at 11:00am. At noon we will be going full hot lapping both tracks for the remainder of the event!
No driver is required to compete in the competition and not running the competition has no effect on seat time (minus top 16). You can just sign up and not compete!
Event requirements
Classes
- D1: Expert - This class is for drivers with many years of experience running tandem and have a fully developed car. Drivers in this class are capable of door-to-door tandems with all cars without issue.
- D2: Advanced - This class is for drivers with many years of experience. Drivers is this class are capable of door-to-door tandems with little to no issues.
- D3: Intermediate - This class is for drivers who are comfortable with drifting solo and are working on tandem with other drivers. Drivers in this class are capable of linking a track without spinning and driving a set line.
- D4: Novice - This class is for all drivers new to the sport of drifting with little to no previous experience.
ExciteGP Series Classes
- Clubsport - Clubsports class is designed for street based vehicles using the original motor available in that chassis. 300tw/235mm tire cap and low power make for close driving.
- Legends: Legends class is designed for competition based vehicles using high power motors, lightweight modifications and big sticky tires. This class is the for the fastest cars and drivers.

ExciteGP drivers must meet the following requirements:
- All drivers must use a ExciteGP series banner. All drivers will also be required to display a class number on the front windshield.
- All drivers will be required to have all body work on during the competition portion of the event. Complete and painted cars are required.
