About this event
The AZPCA is headed to southern Colorado and Utah in August for seven days of spectacular driving, national park visits, and other activities with your PCA friends that you will not soon forget. We will drive to Durango, Colorado on Sunday, August 18th, and will stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Durango for three nights. On Wednesday we will drive to Moab via Gateway, Colorado, a beautiful area that will remind you of Sedona without all the traffic! We will spend three nights just outside of Moab at the Red Cliffs Lodge. The lodge is in a beautiful setting, where many movies and TV commercials have been filmed. And it is a great starting point to experience some amazing drives!
ITINERARY
Sunday: Drive to Durango. Social time after check-in; dinner on your own.
Monday: Free day. Ride the Durango-Silverton Railroad, visit Mesa Verde National Park, go river rafting on the Animas River, or choose among many other great activities offered in the area. Or just take in the numerous sights in and around beautiful, historic Durango.
Tuesday: We have a group drive planned that features one of the most beautiful and exciting roads anywhere in the world, the Million Dollar Highway. We will stop in the charming town of Ouray, "the Switzerland of America," then have lunch in Telluride. The loop drive will take us back to Durango, where we will gather for dinner in the evening at the historic Strater Hotel.
Wednesday: Leaving Durango, we will drive to Moab, Utah, with a stop in Gateway, Colorado. The drive to Gateway follows another awesome route, taking us to the beautiful Gateway Canyons Resort. We will enjoy lunch in the elegant Delores River Room at the lodge before reversing the canyon route and continuing on to the Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab. Dinner is on your own at the at the Red Cliffs (they have a great menu, in the restaurant or in the very welcoming bar area).
Thursday and Friday: Just hanging out at the Red Cliffs Lodge is worth the trip, but the Moab area offers many options for you to enjoy in your Porsche: a drive along the Colorado River to the historic Dewey Bridge, a visit to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, a drive to view ancient petroglyphs. Or you can book a jeep tour, go horseback riding, kayak on the Colorado River, take a scenic hike... Moab is an outdoor-activity Mecca!
Thursday evening: After a day of adventures we will get together to enjoy a cowboy-style Dutch-oven dinner and scenic river boat cruise on the Colorado River. "Shadows and light cast on the walls make each tour a one-of-a-kind star and light show in a one-of-a-kind setting."
Friday: Another full day when you can choose options for driving, sight-seeing, shopping in Moab, enjoying outdoor activities, or just relaxing at the Red Cliffs. On this, our last night, we will gather to share stories about our seven days of fun, over dinner on the Red Cliffs' Upper Deck overlooking the river.
Some activities in Durango and Moab will require reservations well in advance of the trip. After you register, information will be provided to assist you with plans for those activities.
Saturday: Drive home on your own schedule.

The total cost is $305 per person, which includes dinner at the Strater Hotel in Durango, lunch at the Gateway Canyons Resort, dinner and river cruise in Moab, and farewell dinner at the Red Cliffs Lodge. You will book and pay for your lodging separately.
