About this event
The purpose of the Drive to Survive on the Street School is to learn car control in a safe environment with professional instructors.
We will teach you about the following and more:
- Emergency crash avoidance
- Emergency stop, and lane change
- Skid control
- Tips on driving in rain, snow, ice, and slush
- Dealing with ABS
- Stability control
- Air bags
- Tires
Instructors have experience with winter driving schools, police agencies, racing, and crash investigations.
Location is the upper paddock at Calabogie Motorsports Park.
The school will involve driving in your own car and some classroom training.
Each school will last three hours. The first school or session is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and the second school or session is from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Please arrive 30 minutes before each session to allow for signing-in and orientation.
Each school or session is limited to 20 students.
Anyone who meets the pre-registration requirements is eligible to participate, i.e. participants must have at least a G License (Ontario) or its provincial equivalent.
No SUV's or pick-up trucks without Stability control will be allowed.
The cost of each session is $100.
