Cascade Sports Car Club's Road Rally program offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to everyone - club members and non-members, all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Come drive with us!
CSCC proudly presents a Halloween tradition -- the 58th anniversary Ghouls Gambol Rally. Ghouls Gambol is a fun drive on scenic country roads, through autumn-colored countryside. This easy time-speed-distance road rally takes about three hours to complete. Expect treats and maybe a trick or two, for it is a fun Halloween outing after all.
There will be prizes for top finishers and best decorated cars. Who says you don’t have a ghost of a chance? You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll howl at the moon!
Schedule: October 26
Decorated rally cars at the start location: 9:30 am to 10 am
First car starts rally: 10:01 am
First car arrives at The Patch (approx.): 1:30 pm
Decorated rally car show (approx.): 2 pm
Results announced: after all cars finish
Awards presented (approx.): 2:30 pm Ghouls Gambol prizes and Saturday Rally Series awards at the end location
Entry fee:
$25 per car for CSCC members
$35 per car for non-members
Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).
Start location: Milwaukie Lowe's, Millwaukie
Finish location: The Patch, Woodland, WA
Event requirements
This event is conducted in accordance with Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally Rules.
Online registration is required. Day-of-event on-site registration is not available.
All communication about the rally occurs via email. Watch for emails and respond promptly.
After registering by the October 23 midnight deadline, you will receive instructions to complete the virtual check-in on Thursday the 24th. You’ll need to register your assigned car number in the Competitor Richta app, e-sign the required event insurance waivers, and confirm your team’s registration information.
Each entry team must carry a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the most current version of the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. Instructions for downloading and using the Richta app will be provided as part of check-in.
All occupants of the vehicle registered for this event - driver, navigator, passengers - must e-sign the required event insurance waiver. The link to e-sign the waiver will be provided as part of check-in. For occupants under age 18, a parent or legal guardian must e-sign “on behalf of a minor”.
After you’ve completed these check-in steps, you’ll receive the route instructions on Friday. You’ll need to print them. Friday evening there will be a Q & A Zoom meeting.
