“Fly Back in Time” with Chicago Region’s G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out and Tour Series)
The Chicago Region SCCA invites you to another fine drive through the autumn Wisconsin countryside on October 15. This approximately three-hour backroads tour will provide you with scenic views and plenty of turns and elevation changes. At the end, we’ll gather at the Suisse Haus on the square in Monroe, Wis., for lunch and socializing.
The tour starts in South Beloit, Ill., and has two planned stops. The first is the Kelch Aviation Museum, which enables visitors to “fly back in time” to the golden age of aviation. The museum is filled with a stunning collection of restored aircraft from the 1920s and 1930s. It operates totally on donations, so although admission is free, a donation of at least $10 per car is encouraged to help this non-profit organization to thrive. The second stop will please cheese-lovers. It is the Alp & Dell Cheese Store near the end point where you can choose from 150 different cheeses.
