TRACKCROSS PRACTICE RUNS!
We start the day with a FREE traditional Cars & Coffee gathering outside the carousel of the classic 2-mile, 10-turn Summit Point Circuit. Come and show your car while checking out all the other cool cars and meeting like-minded enthusiasts! Coffee and other provisions will be available and affordable. Track time is optional but encouraged for all Cars & Coffee participants and will take place on the nearby 2.2 mile Shenandoah Circuit...
We always hear that people can't drive their car on track with us because it's too complicated, time-consuming, and/or expensive. Well now we have made it as easy and affordable as possible: GET ON TRACK is just 50 bucks and can take as little as 90 minutes. There is literally no cheaper or more simple way than this to GET ON TRACK at Summit Point!
The morning and early afternoon will consist of six available introductory segments during which participants will receive out-of-car instruction and one session on track (approx 30 minutes of lapping at a spirited pace.) Drivers are welcome to sign up for more than one session and enjoy as much track time as possible.
The late afternoon will feature one 2-hour block of higher speed trackcross runs on a course that will use much of the Shenandoah pavement. These are solo practice runs that may be timed but will not be scored. We will limit the number of entries so you get plenty of runs. We do not slow the track down with cones. These events are great for beginners to get a taste of road course driving and start learning the line at good safe speeds before moving on to trackcross competition or FATT/HPDE/track days. Just sign up online for a particular time slot, show up a little early, have a quick meeting, then get on track and have fun. It actually IS this easy!

Event requirements
The Cars & Coffee portion of the day is FREE FOR EVERYONE, just show up and have fun! As for the track time, pre-registration is required to guarantee your spot. At-track entries may be available (cashless) but are not guaranteed. The track time details are...
Eligibility: All drivers and passengers must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license. Passengers are ok as long as they are age 18+ with a seat belt and have signed the waiver. Each entry is for one driver + one guest/passenger. Additional guests are $10 each online via this registration page or at the track that day (cashless.)
Vehicles: It is the driver's responsibility to confirm legality and assure safe mechanical condition of their vehicle at all times. It is strongly recommended that vehicles be thoroughly and routinely inspected by a reputable technician beforehand. Summit Point does not currently allow electric or hybrid-electric vehicles to participate but this may change for the future, please check back.
GET ON TRACK Tech Inspection: GOT is "self tech" and those requirements can be found at this link. Most any street car that would pass a Virginia state inspection or similar is ok. Convertibles are ok, some trucks and SUVs are ok - please inquire before registering.
TRACKCROSS Tech Inspection: click here for the tech form you need to print, fill out, and bring. Most street, track, or competition cars are welcome but most SUVs and trucks are not allowed. Rollbars are required in convertibles unless the car is factory equipped with rollover protection, and it must state such in the manual. Drivers must bring manual and present it at tech. Mazda MX5/Miata, Honda S2000, and Dodge Viper convertibles (among others) all need 4 point roll bars added. All convertibles should pass a “broomstick test” as well. Please inquire before registering if you have any question about the legality of your vehicle. Sorry no refunds or credits if you register and/or show up with a car that doesn’t pass tech.
Weather: These events will take place “Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold” but may be rescheduled or paused for more significant weather. We will reschedule one week later only for frozen weather.
Cancellation: All sales final – no cancellation, refund, or credit. An entry is transferrable to another person for this event only and must be done by noon on the Tuesday prior for a Saturday event or noon on the Wednesday prior for a Sunday event.
GET ON TRACK FAQ: these are 30min sessions of spirited touring laps between pace cars at highway speeds. Passing is not allowed. Helmets are not required. Rollbars are not required in convertibles. In-car instruction will not be provided. Sorry, you may not change or switch sessions once you register for a particular time slot. Please arrive at least 30min before the drivers meeting for your group.
