About this event
The past programs have been a huge success, so we are headed back to Kansas! BC Moto Adventures Off Road Foundations Level 1 class is coming to the Kansas City region on October 20-21, 2018. This two day class is being held on a private ranch a short drive from Kansas City. The venue has varying terrain to challenge riders as they learn what they and their dual sport bike are capable of! Riding your own dual sport motorcycle, the two-day program is designed to maximize every rider's ability on dirt, gravel or other non-paved surfaces. BC Moto’s Bill Conger has been a motor sports instructor for twenty five years, a certified instructor, graduated from the BMW Instructor Academy in 2006 and a finisher of the 2018 Dakar Rally. In addition to learning from one of the best, you will also get the chance to hear about what it takes to prepare for and ride in the world's most infamous rally.
Each day of the school will consist of approximately six hours of riding time and two hours of classroom instruction. To maximize learning and ride time most “classroom” sessions are held trailside. Riding includes drills on dirt, gravel and grass with excursions around the “Ranch” and the surrounding area.
In this course, we will start with basic items such as proper riding position, balance, clutch and throttle control working through a progression of skills exercises to help you become more confident on your bike on different surfaces. We will cover challenging situations such as how to climb and descend steep hills, riding over obstacles, and recovery techniques for large bikes. This class will give you the fundamental skills to build your confidence and allow you to better enjoy your riding whether it’s a day’s jaunt down an old dirt road or a journey around the world.
Riders also will be able to put their newfound skills to use on short dual sport rides with the instructors. Riders are required to wear FULL protective gear including helmet, gloves, a jacket or similar with elbow, back and shoulder protection, knee protection and boots that protect the ankle and shin. Knobby tires are highly recommended. Riders should be proficient in the operation of a motorcycle.
In order to provide a personalized level of attention, class size is limited. Take advantage of this unique opportunity and reserve your spot early as our previous events have sold out.
Registration: $650
