ARPCA Autocross school at PittRace!
Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America will host an Autocross (Auto-X) School at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace) Saturday June 3, 2017. The day will also include an afternoon open autocross in which students will participate. You can also register for just the Afternoon Autocross here as well.
Autocross is a fun, safe, timed event where you maneuver your car through a cone course traveling at speeds up to 55 mph all while competing against your friends for the fastest time of the day. Don’t let the 55 mph limit deceive you into thinking that autocross is easy, it is a practiced skill that can take years to develop, learn how to see the correct driving line and keep your car on the limit all while attacking a different element every few seconds. You can typically expect to make anywhere from 15-20 major steering inputs all within a minute or less on a given course. The skills that are learned through autocross will translate to many other future motor events such as Driver Education days out on the track.
This School will teach students what to expect at an autocross. We are structuring the school get as many runs as possible. In order the provide superior 1 on 1 instruction and many runs for the participants, we are limiting the number of students to fifteen(15). This event will sell out, so register early.
Any street legal car can participate (please no SUVs). Helmets are required but, good news, the club has good supply of loaner helmets. Reserve a helmet when you register.
*** Under 18 Years of Age ***:
Participants 16 and 17 are able to attend this event, provided they are children, step-children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of PCA members. In order to participate you MUST be a licensed driver and have a signed parental consent form. If your custodian will NOT accompany you to PittRace on June 3 to sign the Parental Release Form, you must come with it already signed and notarized. Download a Copy Here

Event ends no later than 6:00pm
- You will be required to remove all loose articles from your car. We suggest that you bring a waterproof bin in case of rain.
- There will be multiple Heats during the day, so students will (depending on the Heat) be driving, resting or working the course. If you have a medical condition and can not work the course please let the instructors knows at morning check-in.
Event requirements
You can use any car that has a valid state inspection. Though it is not required, we recommend that you have your car inspected by your local mechanic to ensure that all running gear is in working order. All drivers must have a valid drivers license - please bring this with you to the event.

Student Registration for School is: $75
Autocross only $35 PCA Member / $40 NON-PCA Member
Payment:
You will be asked for a credit card when you register. We will charge your credit card after your registration has been reviewed and approved by the event chairs.
You may adjust your registration on-line. Any additional charges will be reviewed and charged as appropriate to your credit card. If refunds are appropriate we will send you a check. Any refunds will be subject to the standard cancelation policy outlined in the cancelation section for this event.
*** Under 18 Years of Age ***:
Participants under age 18 are encouraged to attend this event if they have a valid drivers license. Unfortunately, drivers with only a learner permit are not eligible. In order to participate you MUST have a signed parental consent form.
