First Annual Alan Pawling Memorial Lapping Day

St. LAC's popular lapping day (aka OMG at SMP iin 2021) returns to Shannonville Motorsport Park Wednesday, July 13th, 2022.  This year, however, there is no featured marquee and participation is open to all interested drivers.  To that end, St. LAC is proud to announce that going forward this event will be known as the Alan Pawling Memorial Lapping Day.

Entrants will be slotted into one of three categories: 

1. Novice Street Group
2. Advanced Street Group
3. Race Car Group

There are  seven twenty-minute sessions per run group making it perfect for all racers to use as a test and tune day.

Participation is capped at:

1. Novice Street Group -- 20
2. Advanced Street Group -- 20
3. Race Car Group -- 15

Cost:

1. $145 for ST LAC members
2. $200 for non-members (this fee will include a $55 membership in ST LAC)  If you are currently not a member, you can join at stlac.ca

About Alan Pawling:

Al was a big part of St. Lac, for several years he held the post of Competition Director. He also played a big role in the organization of the Regional Autoslalom events at Picton Airfield for many years.

But that does not go deep enough to show the measure of the man, who we all so enjoyed working and socializing with. He always arrived with a cheerful smile and was ready to help in any way he could and at the end of the day, it was a pleasure to sit down at a table with him to rehash the day’s events and anything else that might have come up. 

Alan's legacy will live on as the original owner of the Honda CRX which will serve as the club's instruction vehicle and, of course, this event.
