Instructors for the
2024 WHRRI/SCCA Competition Driving School
We are looking for instructors for the 2024 WHRRI Competition Driving School.
If you are a racer who checks off the following, then we want your help:
- have at least one season under your belt
- enjoy sharing racing knowledge and are considered to be safe and friendly
- want to grow the sport
- want to improve your own skills as an instructor and racer
Though all racing experience levels are welcome, please note there are two levels of registration:
1- Instructors with 3 or more years of experience as a driving school instructor will have the opportunity to mentor students and new instructors. Preferably an active Waterford Hills member.
2- Instructors with less than 3 years of experience will have the opportunity to be an observer/instructor-in-training. (some excpetions may be made based on skill level and club involement) Preferably a Waterford Hills member.
General information about the school: The Competition Driving School is for individuals wishing to compete in “wheel-to-wheel” racing events sanctioned by WHRRI, the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and other sanctioning organizations accepting the WHRRI driving school permit.
Below you will find the schedule and information needed to register as an instructor at this nationally renowned Competition Driving School. Registration is mandatory.
We hope to see you at the track, ready to help the next class of racers take their first step or return into the world of wheel-to-wheel racing!

Event requirements
Please continue on to register as a volunteer driving instructor.
Requirements are:
- Instructors need to have at least 3 years of previous school experience in wheel-to-wheel instructing.
- Instructor-in-training will shadow an Instructor during the weekend and observe students while reporting back to the Instructors.
Please answer ALL questions relating to your racing/instructing experience on the registration form.
