About this event
LS guys get all the fame; It's time for an event to call our own! Introducing the 1st Annual Atlas Nationals Drag Racing Shootout and Car Show, hosted by Atlas Industries at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio. This is the first ever event strictly for Atlas engines: Anything from a stock 2800 Colorado to a 9 second 4200 Turbo Swapped Camaro are welcome! (Please note, no other engines are allowed to compete or show, this is Atlas only.)
The Car Show costs 10 Dollars to enter. (If you really wanted to, you can technically enter both the car show and drag racing.) Trophies will be given out for:
- Best of Show
- Most Creative
- Best Budget Build.
Drag Racing costs 60 Dollars and will feature UNLIMITED RUNS from 12 Noon to 4PM! Get in line and make as many passes as you dare!
Vehicles will be split into two classes for the purpose of trophies: Stock Atlas Engine Vehicles, and Swapped Vehicles that didn't originally come with an Atlas Engine.
Trophies will be given out for:
- 1st Place of Each Class + Prize (Performance part)
- 2nd Place of Each Class + a Prize (Performance part)
- 3rd Place of Each Class (Trophy Only)
- Overall Best Budget Build + a Prize (Performance part)
- Overall Organizers Choice + a Prize (Performance part)
Event Timeline:
- 10:00 AM: The Drag strip doors will open for setting up. THERE WILL BE NO REVVING OR LOUD NOISES UNTIL A FEW MINUTES BEFORE 12 NOON. This is a track rule and local City noise ordinance, not mine. Please be respectful and don't get us kicked out for future events.
- As you enter the facility, your registration information will be checked, you will sign the waiver, and directions for parking will be given; Please be patient with us, we will try our best to be quick : )
- 11:30 AM: Drivers Meeting. This is MANDATORY for anyone racing. We will go over some event and track rules. Our goal isn't to be dictators! We just want everyone to be safe and have a fun day with the least amount of disruptions (and therefore the most track time as possible). We also want to make sure we are good to the Kil-Kare facility and respect their rules.
- 11:45 AM: Line Up cars at the staging lanes.
- 12:00 PM: Racing begins! Make as many passes as you and your car can handle.
- 4:00 PM: Racing Ends.
- 4:15 PM: Trophies and Awards for Racing and Car Show.
- 4:30 PM: Pack Up and Leave.
- 5:00 PM: Event closes.
Event requirements
- Registrations for this event are for Atlas Engine equipped vehicles only! I can't stress that enough. If you register with a non-atlas engine equipped Vehicle, your registration will be refunded and removed.
- (Please note: There will be 3-4 non-Atlas vehicles on track, which is a perk to the volunteers who are giving up their time for free to help me run this event).
- Min. driver age is 18. There are NO passengers/riders in any racing vehicle.
- You must have a Helmet, Pants (no shorts!) and closed toed shoes to race. Note: There will not be loaner helmets available.
- Your vehicle must be in safe condition to race. Look, I'm just as much of a redneck as the next guy, but we don't want anyone to have a bad time or get kicked out of the track. No loose or wobbly batteries, wheels, seats or fuel tanks/cells, all your lug nuts on, factory seat belts at minimum etc.
