2009 Lone Star Chapter Driver's Education Weekend
March 28th and 29th, 2009
The Lone Chapter of the BMW CCA is proud to bring you the registration for the annual Spring Driver’s Education and Club Race Weekend presented by Classic BMW of Plano. Registration will again be done on Motorsportreg.com, but it will be slightly different so we suggest you read this entire document before signing up. We require a good email address for us to communicate with you during this process (and in the weeks leading up to the event).
The first change that you will see is that you will not pay for the event when you sign up (this is for reasons related to the $50 credit for the “refer a friend” program). Once you are accepted into the event, you will be billed thru Paypal (please ensure that you are comfortable paying thru Paypal by visiting paypal.com ahead of time). After we receive payment from you, you will be sent a confirmation packet via email that includes information on the weekend, a schedule of events, the tech inspection form that must be filled out prior to the event by a professional mechanic, and a helmet waiver form that must be turned in the weekend of the event. The only things you will receive when registering at the track is your car numbers, run groups stickers, and any SWAG that we come up with. Forms, schedules, etc will be emailed to you. Please ensure that your email can receive attachments and that you print them and fill them out as appropriate.
To enter, please go to motorsportreg.com. Fill out all the required blanks (the only blanks that are not required are the track event history). NOTE: If you are planning on taking advantage of the referral program, the “Referred by” and “Referred by email” blanks MUST be filled out for your referrer to get the credit. Please ensure that you fill out the make and model of the car you are bringing so we can be in compliance with our convertible rules. For the blank that says “Requested run group”, if you have never been to an event before please select “novice”. If you have been to an event before please select the level of the run group you were last in (doesn’t matter if it was not a BMW CCA event) and ensure that you have filled out the prior event history information. You will receive a confirmation email that shows you that we received your information. All accepted applicants will recieve a Paypal bill
on Sunday, March 15th, 2009. Receipt of payment is required by Friday, March 20th, 2009. For the 2 lowest run groups (Novice & Intermediate) the price is $275, for the advanced run group (Solo) it will be $195 (for those you that remember, that price is a rollback to 2003 prices!). Please read all emails you get from us and follow the directions contained in them. If you do not complete some requirements you may lose your spot in the event.
Due to a change in the convertible rule requirement by the BMW CCA National Office, all convertibles will be required to get their tech inspection done by our sponsor, Classic BMW in Plano. The rules are very specific in what our insurer will allow as far as convertibles go, so we want to ensure that you will not be turned away the day of the event due to a non-compliant car. If you show up in a non-compliant car, no refund will be issued.
For those of you that are planning on taking advantage of the “refer a friend” program please read the procedure this needs to be done to ensure that your credit is applied appropriately. As we expect this event to be very full we ask that everybody sign up ASAP. For everybody that you refer, please ensure that you have given them your name and email address (a screen name on an internet forum will NOT be sufficient)- this is to email you notification that one of your referrals has signed up and you have a credit with us. We do not want to be issuing chargebacks, therefore once you have all the credits you are expecting please email us so that we can bill you. The “refer a friend” program will end on Friday March 13 at 6pm. This is to ensure that we can bill everybody and have the money collected before the event. We will not accept any payments at the event.
Cancellations: Cancellations will be allowed up to 2 weeks before the event without penalty (except any credit card / Paypal fees incurred). Cancellations within 2 weeks of the event will be allowed a credit towards a future event less a $75 fee plus credit card / Paypal fees incurred. If you have referred somebody and they cancel, you will lose the referral bonus and will be required to pay that before being allowed on track.
If you wish to only do Saturday or Sunday, please email me at dechair@lscbmwcca.org ahead of time as I will start a wait list. Priority is given to students wishing to complete both days. The cost for one day (if space is available) will be $150 for the lower run groups and $125 for the advanced run groups.
