About this event
We return to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA for the tenth event of the 2018 season.
We will have a Practice on Saturday followed by a Championship event on Sunday. The Sunday event will also be the inaugural Stop Cancer Autocross Challenge in conjunction with the Manhattan Beach-based Cancer Journeys Foundation (details below).
Solo, or autocross, is a low speed, timed, car handling event set up as a small road course lined with orange traffic cones on a large parking lot or aircraft runway. The emphasis is on handling and car control and courses are laid out so that the top speed is limited to what would typically be encountered during normal highway driving. Learn more about us at solo2.com.
The Saturday Practice and Sunday Championship events are open to all SCCA members. If you’re not an SCCA member, do not worry. During the online registration process, you can buy a weekend membership.
Saturday Practice—October 20
Please note that Saturday is capacity-controlled to ensure people get a lot of runs, and registering for the event DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR ENTRY. However, once you are on the confirmed entry list, your entry is then guaranteed. Be sure to register early for your best chance at acceptance.
To avoid confusion once the practice sells out, we have added a new 'Waitlist Saturday' registration option. If the practice is sold out by the time you register, the only registration open will be for the waitlist.

You may register online for a discounted fee, or you may register on-site at the event for a higher fee. You can register in a class based upon your car and modifications, or you can register to run Time Only (if you register TO, you will not be able to choose when you run/work). A work assignment is required.
An additional set of runs (called X-runs) are available for purchase on-site for $25 (no additional work is required when you purchase X-runs). Your normal runs (in class or Time Only) must be purchased and completed prior to taking X-runs. X-Runs will be taken in the same group as your normal runs. Free fun runs will be available following class competition (provided we have a minimum number of participants).
Stop Cancer Autocross Challenge—October 21
Stop Cancer Challenge Details
The goal of the Stop Cancer Autocross Challenge is to raise awareness of cancer prevention and detection. During your regular registration for Cal Club Autocross's Sunday Championship, you can elect to have your runs also count towards the Stop Cancer Challenge. This unique competition features a team of one female and male driver—spouses, couples, siblings, parent/child, or friends/family. Each team member will drive an autocross course four times, with their team score being the combined total of the fastest run by each team member. Participant cars will be indexed so that teams will compete on an even basis regardless of the type of their car. Trophies will be awarded in four categories. The Stop Cancer Challenge will be run throughout the day during the normal Sunday event (details on the event are listed above).
The team categories are as follows:
- Category 1: Combined age unlimited
- Category 2: One driver under 21
- Category 3: Both drivers under 21
- Category 4: Combined age of 130 or more
For Cal Club Autocross members who elect to participate in the Stop Cancer Challenge, the four competition runs still count towards year-end points and trophies.

You must have a vehicle number in order to compete on Autocross Sundays. The best way to get a number is to purchase a permanent number via a points cards. Please note that an Autocross Sunday points card is required to compete for year-end awards, Team Championship, and Team Challenge.
If you’re not ready to purchase a points card, a random 6xx number will be assigned to you at registration along with a matching paper number that can be taped to your car. If you have already have a permanent number on your vehicle, you may have the option to use a random 6xx number or convert your existing number by placing a one (1) and the appropriate number of zeros in front of your existing number to create a 1xxx number. In either case, the cost for a temporary number is $5 per event.
